Idaho has one of the most diverse and numerous populations of wildlife thanks to sound management plans and hunters. @aspenmogul: Wolves don’t kill to kill and they only kill when they need the food. There were many more elk in one area than wolves so they reproduce pretty well. Wolves don’t go around killing their prey just because they can though. They only kill them when they need to eat. If there’s anything left over and it’s still good, they eat off that until there is none left. That’s how the things have survived without dying off. I don’t believe that all the elk are gone in that area either.
