@trampboarder2 A lot of times, I’ve found that turkeys don’t respond well to decoys.

@anavidhunter I might just try that. It would be hard to film by myself, I guess I could at least get the sounds from me pissing off the hen….. and the shot

Wish I was there. You got to try and get that on film…that would be a kule vid.
Get a couple cameras goin so you could really show the sound.

@anavidhunter As a matter of fact, it worked this morning for me. 2 jakes and a hen were in the tree, got her talking, pissed her off, and she marched right on in. Turkey for dinner tonight

That sounds awesome…I like that tactic…I bet it does work well for you.
I’ve caught Stealhead in a similar way…when they don’t want to bite you can catch them by pissing them off by puttin the lure in their face over and over and then they will strike it…and then its fish on.
Great idea for callin in Game…nice work.

i went hunting this morning and did almost that exact same thing even with decoys but the birds just wouldn’t react

This video is exactly right…. if the tom is by himself. If he has a hen, or hens with him there is another tactic that I like. Everything starts the same as this video, but listen for the hen to start yelping. Cut her off, gently at first, then as she starts to get “pissed off” keep it going. Eventually she will do one of two things. Lead the tom away from you… or fly out right to you to kick your ass with the tom right behind her. (this is how I kill 90% of my birds) Give it a shot!

If I can get gobbler to talk with me i could stay out there all day. Killing them is just a bonus. Good video, ill tell you how my spring season works out.
