December 9th, 2010 at 2:50 am
@TheRANDOMGARBAGE Why not?
December 9th, 2010 at 2:54 am
one of the worst airguns i ever seen
December 9th, 2010 at 3:12 am
@i23intheplace2b i know its a long time since ur question, but the answer is ust so stupid. wen u use shells the massiv hit on the body of the animal takes it out, in witch a single shot destroy vital bodyparts.
December 9th, 2010 at 3:43 am
seriously man did u have to kill the rabbit
December 9th, 2010 at 4:01 am
good eatin??/ wtf. have fun biting into pellets
December 9th, 2010 at 4:40 am
that rabbit was like 10 ft away. and my best bet is they bought it and placed it there
December 9th, 2010 at 5:06 am
@raguspag55 In the USA, there are many also that consider rabbit a delicacy. When it comes to hunting Rabbit is still considered “small game”. (As to the dignified comment, being dignified didn’t bail Europe out of World War II.)
December 9th, 2010 at 5:25 am
@OutdoorAdventures They certainly arent classified as a rodent as are squirrels.
Their a delicacy in many many dignified european countries, except yours.
December 9th, 2010 at 6:11 am
Someone invent a 12 gauge semi auto air shotgun.
December 9th, 2010 at 6:56 am
awsome freakin video i have just recently heard about this air rifle a few months ago and was thinking “really they now have a damn air rifle shotgun????” well iam a HUGE fan of gamo anyway but never knew how apllicable it would be to buy that rifle due to the fact its air powered not an actually rim or center fire gun and now i saw it, but how far were you away from the rabbit when you took the shot? and maybe gamo can improve the viper by increasing power and making a choke for tighter groups
December 9th, 2010 at 7:06 am
@OutdoorAdventures Hands down to the .410. A seriously underestimated round.
Love the “oooohhhh yeah!” at the end
December 9th, 2010 at 7:13 am
rabbit is good had some last night
December 9th, 2010 at 7:41 am
@Carinaspiano because they taste so good!
December 9th, 2010 at 8:28 am
@i23intheplace2b the shot shells are only made for the Viper Express. It will not fit in other brands or models of air rifles. As far as the lethality goes, a .22 pellet will always be more lethal.
December 9th, 2010 at 9:23 am
@viktor1nebenfuehr it’s possible, but it’s not easy. If you’re looking to get meat, a regular .410 would be a better choice.
December 9th, 2010 at 9:47 am
@ASxSniper actually, a rabbit is just a rat with long ears and a fluffy tail. Ask an Australian if rabbits are varmints or not.
December 9th, 2010 at 9:54 am
@jps13party we definitely used a shot shell on the rabbit. But you have to get close up for it to kill.
December 9th, 2010 at 10:33 am
@eri3576w 10 yards or so. With the shot shells, the gun looses accuracy the farther you are away from the target.
December 9th, 2010 at 11:27 am
how close was you to the rabbit
December 9th, 2010 at 11:54 am
die rabbits!!!!!!
December 9th, 2010 at 12:05 pm
@granny586 We’re Rabbit killers, and we’re proud of it! Fried Rabbit is the best!
December 9th, 2010 at 12:27 pm
Rabbit killer
December 9th, 2010 at 12:53 pm
i think he hit it with a .22 PELLET not a shot shell…
December 9th, 2010 at 1:00 pm
@viktor1nebenfuehr
Using a pellet rifle i was able to take out a bird flying towards me but the insane thing about it was that i was lucky because the ammo i used is much easier affected by gravity but it keeps it’s velocity at longer distances and knowing that i was able to take it out, it wasn’t the round that killed it, it actually hit the wall right behind me. So the answer is yes… yes it can
December 9th, 2010 at 1:43 pm
Like he said, poisoning is the alternative and that kills other animals that eat them and the alfalfa fields where they die from poisoning.
December 9th, 2010 at 2:14 pm
Hi,
Ground squirrels are a nuisance animal to cattleman. Their burrows damage stream beds and ranch roads. They can also cripple cattle and increase the coyote population.Pretty much all cattle ranchers remove them and coyotes. We will never have a shortage of either. Many ranchers use chemical poisons to eliminate squirrels. Not very discriminate. I know exactly what has been killed when I pull the trigger.
Hope you never have to use one of your guns on a BG.
Regards,
223varmint
December 9th, 2010 at 2:20 pm
I’m not anti-gun I have 8 handguns…. they are for badguys, things that can fight back….. Why are you shooting these small animals? This is a serious question, are they causing you a problem?…. or is this just sadistic crap like sticking a firecracker in a frogs mouth?
December 9th, 2010 at 2:27 pm
hahaha nice shooting
December 9th, 2010 at 3:20 pm
you know its a good hit when you hear the pop!
December 9th, 2010 at 4:15 pm
Great video. You guys sound like our killing group – laughing at the spinners and flip shots.
December 9th, 2010 at 5:06 pm
I love my old M1 garand, but that .223 is the gun to shoot those prairie dogs with… You just can’t beat them for accuracy and range… I set up boxes of handloads for different ranges…
December 9th, 2010 at 5:36 pm
taifno,
I bought some of the white box ammo from Walmart, Hope to try it out soon. Too damn hot in Bakersfield now though..
December 9th, 2010 at 6:36 pm
The 45gn 5,56x45mm stuff that WalMart sells is pretty brutal on these little beasts. It isn’t match-grade, but in reality as long has you hit them centered enough for the projectile to do its thing you’re good.
December 9th, 2010 at 7:09 pm
The land I shoot on is oil fields with some high pressure steam lines running above ground. Can’t risk a ricochet there, so no shooting mil surplus ammo. I bought a couple of 50round boxes of 45grain varmint ammo to try the next time out.
December 9th, 2010 at 7:53 pm
Nice shooting. Are you using fmj? Used to have a ball with my .223Bruno 527,suppressor,and a 12 power scope,55grn psp ftw! Buy a can of cheap baked beans and see what I mean…..just sounded like a .22lr going off.If you like anatomy lessons, try a .22 Hornet out to 200m with hollow points…one crack and theyre mince. But shooting 400m on those guys..Nice!! Varmint shooting isnt exactly popular in New Zealand but I do know what it takes to hit that sized target at those sorts of ranges.
December 9th, 2010 at 8:42 pm
Long range varmit, love it!
December 9th, 2010 at 9:09 pm
Grass has gotten too tall to see them. I have to wait till the cattle graze it, or it lays over….Shooting the M1 at paper till then.
Good luck in your “dog town”
December 9th, 2010 at 9:14 pm
Good Shooting, Going next spring to bust some Prarie dogs myself.
December 9th, 2010 at 9:16 pm
I would of had a lot more kill shots, but my brother neglected to hit the pause button and killed the battery on the camera. We start out with .22 RF then .223 AR15 then .25-06 and .22-250 for the long shots that I cannot get on camera. 450yds out I can’t see in the camera.
I am going to put together a 6.5 Grendal when Wolf starts selling the ammo for it. Then we can really go long… Grass is to tall to see them now. I am really bummed.
Take care
December 9th, 2010 at 9:17 pm
HAHAHA hell yeah man, I love shootin’ those lil bastards, your a pretty good shot man. theres nothing more fun then chasing after rabbits and squirells all day shootin em
December 9th, 2010 at 10:08 pm
It’s also a heck of a lot more fun! Probably not for the rodent though..
December 9th, 2010 at 10:45 pm
May I also add that shooting them, although time consuming, is more ecologically responsible. Most people would prefer poisoning them which then seeps into the ground water and gets into animals that eat the dead carcasses.
December 9th, 2010 at 11:14 pm
Working cattle ranch. Ground squirrels cause lots of damage to the property. There are tens of thousands of them.
December 10th, 2010 at 12:08 am
