I have no idea how you got lucky enough for that coyote to stay their for as long as it did before you shot.

coyotes live in all 50 states… you have deer? man you should have yotes? Make a trip to Texas… all the yotes you can kill.. Learn to call, good rifle, yer there!

Always wanted to Coyote hunt. Dont really live in an area they’re in though. So I stick to squirrels, deer, and the occasional rabid raccoon.

Nicely done

beautiful animals

I don’t mind the watching it, it’s just the issue of letting it experience the extended death. Everything dies eventually, but it just seems cruel to let it sit and die a slow death if a quicker death is possible. This is just me though. I’m not trying to tell anyone how they should hunt, like PETA. Then again, PETA wouldn’t even want you to hunt in the first place…

@SomeWeirdFreak if you dont have the guts to watch something die slowly then dont bother hunting cuz its gonna happen sooner or later wether you see it or not, it will happen

I really only use the “Lightning Jack” and then after a shot or if I do not get a response from the LJ I use the coyote pup distress call. Those seem the work the best fro around here. Take care.

What do you feel is your most successful way to sequence your calls on your fox pro.

In this vid I was using the FoxPro OCC…about $600.00
I am now using the FoxPro Prairie Blaster…about $700.00.

what kinda call do you use and how much was it
March 17th, 2010 at 7:45 am
Did you not see it go down?. That means it died.
March 17th, 2010 at 7:53 am
ya he was dead within seconds. Nice shot, I use a ruger M77 Target in .243 for yotes. Its to heavy for some, but im a big guy also. So a little weight and or recoil dont bother me much either. Put the hammer down on his butt.

As a matter of fact, I have never hunted. I would like to though. I don’t have a problem shooting it, but I wouldn’t let it sit to die slowly. If it died within seconds though, a second shot would be unnecessary.

See below comment…you guys obviously do not hunt much. He died within seconds…shooting it again will not do anything. He was hit in the heart/lung area….it takes a few sec.’s for them to bleed out.
March 17th, 2010 at 9:27 am
Well from your comment you have never hunted coyotes…or anything else I would venture to say. Most animals when hit in the vitals still have 10 sec. to a few min.’s of “life left in them. They are running on adrenaline at that point. Shooting them a 2nd time is a waste of ammo and does nothing to spped up the “kill”. Know what your talking about before opening your pie hole and showing the world your ignorance.

Cool vid. I shoot the same rifle. One of the other posts complained you only shot it once and then let it suffer. That poster is a true idiot. You hit it squarely with a 75 gr 243 cal hollow point going roughly 3000 fps. There was minimal suffering. It was a clean kill from what I saw.

“kick” aka recoil is very subjective. I am a pretty big guy…6’2″ 220 lbs. So shooting anything up to a 30-06 does not bother me. This rifle in the video has a 16 1/2 barrel and a muzzle break. Feels like shooting a .223.

P.S. I’m contemplating a Tikka T3 Lite as my first precision rifle (and first personally owned rifle for that matter) and have seen nothing but good reviews. It being a lighter gun though, how is the kick?
March 17th, 2010 at 11:41 am
Nice shot. Although I would have personally hit it again to try and kill it asap, unless I had a personal grudge with it. Nice hit though.

i like how you shoot him once and then just leave him there to suffer…
