And before I got to harvest any meat that might have been left when I went inside to go get my gloves to clean the squirrels a hawk and six Turkey buzards had came and started to eat the meat which is my fault cause up here on the mountain there are more hawks and buzards then squirrels so I should of known but at least they didn’t go to waste

I actually was using my homemade camera mount but it still needed some tuning, I have a second video of squirrel hunting on my channel and in that video I was able to take a head shot and a chest shot all in all I just needed a little practice and I went with the polymer tips because I new I might not get a very accurate shot my first time around using the camera because I knew that they would most likely do the job with the least amount of time the animal might of had to suffer

@yotekiller21 Another possible alternative might be to get a mount that you can put on top of you scope to mount a video camera of some sort on.

@yotekiller21 Yes having to shoot accurately and filming a decent shot at the same time is quite a challenge and something i wouldn’t reccomend unless you have a very attentive helper who is willing to do the best job possible.

Usually anything 150yards and under I would take a head shot but I’m new to the whole filming and shooting so it was hard to do them both at the same time just need more practice

Good shooting the 17 HMR is a very accurate caliber. By the looks of your squirrels harvested it appears that you where using the polymer tipped .17 HMR Bullets if you are unable to make head shots at those distances i would recomend you switch ammo and only use the CCI 20 grain FMJ Bullets for the sake of meat preservation. But thats just a suggestion some folks don’t mind causing extensive meat damage to their harvested game most of the time you can still harvest at least half of the squirrel.

Thanks. The jvc everio HD camcorder was 300$ its an ok camera for the money and has a one touch YouTube ready button but I would look into Canon because they have a really good line of camcorders I just bought the Canon r10 and love it for 400$ its the best for the price
