hey dave i finaly got my ishy 308 workin. you should put a slip on ammo holder on yours and stuff a piece of foam from army sleeping mat under it evenly over the top of the comb on the butstock. i did this and i get a much better cheek weld and it makes the rifle so comfortable and fun to shoot. it also puts your eye right where it needs to be for the scope. i also found w that stock the safety wont fully engage unles you grind out the stok w a wheel to make room i did this 2 and it looks great

@coyotekiller740 Different rifles take different ammo differently. It’s all individual.

  3. journeytheoutdoors Says:

@coyotekiller740 I find the best accuracy is from the Remington core-lokts but I can not remember the grain it does depend on the distance you expect to shoot.
the more the powder, the more the recoil = less accuracy.

hunt hard, hunt safe, eat well.

what grain ammo would u suggest being the best for a .308? also what brand do u get the most accuracy out of in your opinion?

  5. Outdoorsforum Says:

@SMCkrew hope im not to late but I would think yes. A .308 is about as much as a 00BK 3′ shells

  6. TobaccerJuice Says:

    @SMCkrew nah man just practicer

  7. extremehunter1996 Says:

    .308 ftw!!!!

  8. SMCkrew Says:

is a .308 too much for a 110 pound thirtteen year old? ive shit 12 guage birdshot b4 and it wasnt too bad but a tad much

  9. snipersup Says:

great video. going to be using my no 4 mk 1* lee enfield in the original .303 british when i start hunting

    cheers from canada!

  10. jlac2xmglock Says:

    thanks for the feedback!

I’ll keep that in mind! take it easy.

  11. enfield1576 Says:

@jlac2xmglock actually it’s not the reciever. It can handle the pressure. It’s the difference in the two cartidges. commercial 308 brass is thinner and there is a slight difference. With throat erosion on the enfields and bad headspace you can have casing rupture. The recievers are fine.

  12. Sharmanultra1 Says:

@mwillblade That is a military enfield, it just has an after market stock.

  13. mwillblade Says:

I thought you were going to use the military enfield.

  17. journeytheoutdoors Says:

welcome to GOOD BURGER, may I take your order? hahahahaha

  18. clarkboy411 Says:

you look like keenan from keenan and kel, lol

  19. jlac2xmglock Says:

Possible, but it would difficult to find that out anyway since the military and some class 3 holders are the only groups of people who can access M-60′s

    All around .308 is exellent!

whats you’re views on the .30-06?

  20. journeytheoutdoors Says:

what if you use low recoil shells in .308?
    psi should be like 54,000?!

  21. jlac2xmglock Says:

I use a .308 win myself, exellent caliber for deer especially wild pig.
I know the psi on .308 is much higher than the 7.62 x 51, plus shooting .308 on uh….lets say on a M-60 would be inappropiate
the chamber can’t handle that much pressure, according to a buddy of mine who joined the marines.

  22. journeytheoutdoors Says:

    HAHAHAHA
YEAH i PAINTED IT, SO ITS LITTLE
    TIGHT ACTION IT WORKS GOOD!.

THE DIFF. IS THE CHAMBER/NECK SPACE, THE 7.62X51 NATO IS A LITTLE LARGER IN THE NECK. AND IT HAS A CHAMBER PSI MAX OF 50,000. THE .308
IS SMALLER AND THE MAX PSI IS 62,000
SO USING .308 IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE OF THE EXPANSION OF THE CASING NECK OF THE .308 AND THE MAX PSI IS HIGHER THAN RECOMMENDED FOR A 7.62X51NATO
    *****SHOOT WITH CAUTION!!!!!!!!*********
CHAMBER HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO BLOW UP!

  23. lexmark136 Says:

lol, i think you need a new extractor haha

whats the difference between .308 and 762×51??

  24. journeytheoutdoors Says:

a shop in my town that reloads.
    low recoil .22 accelerator rounds
    very flat shooting

  25. ballin2157 Says:

wow..you hunt coyote with a .308? where do you get your low recoyl shells?
