Well, it’s seems like I’m not the only one having trouble finding these little critters. I’ve used many hours going back and forth along the rivers without luck. Found one beaver in Aurora Basin in Tall Trees ,but that place is literally packed with bears so I quickly gave up on that plan. Now this seems to be the sweet spot. Lots of beavers and they spawn if you just leave and come back shortly after. Alternatively you can just make a camp and wait for the next day. The best time is early in the morning. I quickly got myself the 5 beaver skins required for the in-game challange. Happy hunting !!!

I walked around for hours, it got dark so I placed a campsite near the location. As I’m walking around some more a pack of wolves chased me off the edge of the cliff and when i respawned at the campsite all five were in front of me.
