HEADSHOT
December 11th, 2010 at 7:00 pm
I am a complete amatuer myself who punches paper and hunts. Learning from some guys who DO know what they are doing I am surprised at the amount of prep that goes into making a clean steady shot. They usually take a minimum of 8-10 secs prep per shot and shoot quarter size groups at 200 yards, which is what I want to be able to do. Position shooting is a highly developed skill
All that being said, great vid, great shooting, but why pink for that beast dude?

@aberry9475 You can not take the human out of the equation, the human is always there. Rifle do not shoot by them selves, there is always a human behinde it.
December 11th, 2010 at 7:35 pm
Arguably though..once you take the human out of the equation what is there to compete for? Who has the best stuff? Who has the best rifle? You don’t even look through the scope when you pull the trigger. I don’t understand why people do this it’s like your competing over nothing unless theres some skill here I’m not noticing?? On top of that you don’t even hit the bulls eye cause it damages your aiming point..understandable but isnt that the point–to hit the bulls eye? lawl…

Thats not real rifle shooting, clamp your gun down and pull the trigger, errr no. Look up sirslotalot on youtube, he will show you how to shoot for real !

It is a different game entirely. I so both and BR has given a lot to position shooting and accuracy in general.
December 11th, 2010 at 9:01 pm
@Sturmmann -.- thats only 100 meters i mean yeah i know thats a bit of a distance but this guy doesnt have to steady it or anything, people hit 1000 yards with a normal rifle
December 11th, 2010 at 9:51 pm
This doesn’t look fun at all……
December 11th, 2010 at 10:07 pm
the benchrest lose all the seanse of rifleman its all about
December 11th, 2010 at 10:11 pm
A few more headshot and you should get fall!
December 11th, 2010 at 10:44 pm
@birgrunar
reality? you mean the fact that they kill paper from a mechanical rest?
position shooting seperates the men from boys and benchresters
December 11th, 2010 at 11:26 pm
@Sturmmann That is what you think. Reality, sometimes surprises people.

No one is asking you to join. Some men like to suck dick and some men like to shoot perfect scores. Which are you?
December 12th, 2010 at 12:55 am
these people arent riflemen
they wouldnt hit shit in position shooting
December 12th, 2010 at 1:45 am
does it come in mens?
December 12th, 2010 at 2:25 am
@goaliestar1010 The rifle is not bolted to weights. It is in a sandbag rest. That makes it easier, but it still takes precision handloading, Extremely fine muscle control and skill in reading wind and mirage to shoot groups in the fraction of an inch range. To each his own, but to me this is so much better than watching the urban ninjas rack of magazine after magazine and never hit anything. Heck, a pack of firecrackers would have the same effect and be a lot cheaper!
December 12th, 2010 at 3:00 am
@chakathewolf I’m sorry but I can’t respect a “sport” that has removed the entire human element. The gun is stabilized and bolted to weights. He doesn’t need to use anything more than a finger to shoot. I’m sorry but this just isn’t impressive. Do this free aiming and you’re amazing. Even the video’s creator says that all they’re looking for is max accuracy, but that’s not that hard when you have fine adjustments attached to the gun and it’s been stabilized.
December 12th, 2010 at 3:33 am
@goaliestar1010 Making noise with a gun garners no respect. Anyone with a finger can do that. Shooting small groups takes work and talent. You have no knowledge of this event, and it shows.
December 12th, 2010 at 3:49 am
I really can’t see the point of it all (or the bullet strike come to that) but each to their own I suppose. Just what serious amount of skill is required with a gun clamped to the bench? I like to hold my rifles and shoot from the shoulder, standing, sitting, kneeling or prone.
December 12th, 2010 at 4:21 am
thats hectic precision! nicee work
December 12th, 2010 at 4:55 am
Awesome shooting, what does it cost to put a rifle like that together?
December 12th, 2010 at 5:24 am
@babyeatsdingos 100% in target
) very good comment !
December 12th, 2010 at 6:18 am
@birgrunar
Neither the bulls eye nor the square were hit, but a tight group was maintained. Based on the definitions of the words, good precision and yes bad accuracy.
December 12th, 2010 at 6:41 am
@babyeatsdingos Nope. Smart shooting, not damaging the aiming point.
December 12th, 2010 at 6:41 am
@GoreFUNK420 That would damage the aiming point.
