Coyotes hunting for voles, McDonald Farm, Naperville, IL. Feb. 11, they caught a lot!

Watch for a couple ‘pounce’ scenes. The second pounce produces a nice fat vole the coyote munches down. I spotted this pair of coyotes catching voles after some newly fallen snow on my way to work. It was crazy to see coyotes hunting in daylight in a residential neighborhood only a few blocks from my house. What beautiful animals.

    @4mattson because in the Chicago city and in the suburbs the coyote population keeps the rodent population in check. Yes, we actually have a decent population living IN the city of Chicago and they keep the rat population down and don’t bother anything else.
