Deers and other heribivors are generally very underestimated due to their habit to choice flee rather then fight most of the times
this clip just shows how formidable an simpel deer can be !
it was also said that more zookeepers are wounded by heribivors then by carnivors
due to underestimating them

i work on a ranch in Idaho with MANY mulies around, and i see yippies evry day about 2 maybie 3 times a day and I have NEVER seen a mule deer take sutch protective actions, thats pretty shocking. I personaly use a charles daily 243. with a 100gr bullet and i have it sighted in at 700 yards, yes… YARDS if i can see the yippie i can kill it.

great vid’ by the way.
painful to watch only because you see the underdog, and that she really cant do enough to defend her fawn, that is sad, but again it’s life in the wild.
I know it’s her fawn, but suprised at a deer really trying to fight them off thats amazing as well.

This is very typical of how animals die in the wild. The clip does not show more of the deer and coyote episode because this process can take 72 hours or more befor the animal is biten to death. Great for tree huggers to see. They critisize hunters for killing an animal in 30 seconds or less. Hey, maybe we ought to arrest all the coyotes in the world. Or better yet put all animal in cages and zoos so we can protect them from each other! Gee, was Bambi really just a cartoon?

Nice footage. Too bad you don’t have the end of the standoff between the coyotes and the deer posted.
I normally can’t find decent quality video of coyotes hunting larger prey. Keep up the good work.
