Where are you hunting in Wyoming. I grew up in Glenrock! Go on our website and check out the forum. We swap hunting tips all the time. If you are able to get in to a stand location undetected and call for 30-40 minutes with no results, then move to a new stand location. It is pretty common to make many stands, before having success. There are a lot of things to go over. Check ot the forum and we’ll get down to business.
I believe that cruelty is often how someone perceives it. I think in this case the death brought upon a coyote through hunting is far less cruel than mange, starvation, and a coyote loosing there ability to hunt through old age. Is it worse than the cruelty of taking an unwanted dog to a pound to wait for a home? Is it worse to let a domestic dog suffer than to put it down? I think most hunters love the game they are chasing and would never want to do anything other than conserve the critters.
man i have never had that kind of luck here in wyoming. the best that ever happened to me was i was waiting all morning, about 4 hours and i happened upon a bitch and 3 pups. got any pointers for a newbie?
I can see your point of view, but the difference between a loyal dog and a coyote is huge once you understand the coyote. A coyote is an opportunist that preys on the week. Their favorite targets are baby animals to include elk, deer, antelope, cattle, sheep, all types of birds, pets, etc. When their populations get out of control they can really hurt the balance.
