i shoot a 300 savage in alberta canada its a great coyote gun and good for bear when you call in the wrong anmial haha how big are the dogs down south they are avrage 40 to 60 pounds here and some are crossed with farm dogs are much larger….. HAPPY HUNTING in the new year
For those of you just getting started in predator calling, I would like to suggest on getting a 22-250,or 223. The ammo is easy to find. The calls I use are Crit’r call, Predator quest ruffidawg (all three) and a call from Tony Tebbe. My buddy uses a Dan Thompsen PC-1. They all work great. I hunt Coyotes in Wyoming only and this year i’m up to 36 dogs.
@150h the 17 would do the trick and so would the 22. but theyd have to be pretty close for you to use the 22 and youd have to hit them in the vitals or the head or youll never see the yote again. you might as well buy your self a cheap single shot 223.
iv been trying ti kill them all yr iv put traps out i called and still nothing you can hear them howl but dame they wount to wear you can see them .. that is a nice little rilfe
i use a Thompson Center 223 55 grain single shot wit a leupold 2.5 by 8 it works real good the call i use is the primos lil dog got a nice coat on a flagstaff coyote
Looks like a Johnny Stewart or a Knight & Hale. I would reccomend some of Primos calls: hotdog, lildog, etc. Although some sound higher, keep in mind you want to build a scenario while calling. Sometimes those higher pitched calls when sounding like pups may bring in some of those stubborn females. Good Hunting.

best way to defend cattle from em is to keep em from coming around your pastures… shoot em or put out some poison traps if you dont have a dog around

I hope the caller works. Coyotes are like Al Qaida. The only good one is a dead one.
