Rare view of close-up of coyote hunting, digging, catching, and eating its prey. It is quite difficult to just get a close-up view of a coyote. This video shows not only a close-up, but also shows the coyote searching for prey by scent, digging, catching, and eating it. When I said that someone had just killed a coyote that weighted 60 lbs. (weighed sometime after it was killed), the coyote looked at me (I didn’t have anything to do with killing it). Shows the beautiful coyote pelt in full, bright sunshine. The pelt sparkles with color including a nice reddish tone. **Coyotes can run at speeds up to 43 mph and can jump over 4 meters. It runs with its tail down. Some coyotes found in the east can weight over 100 lbs (see 64.233.169.104 Comments and videos show these monster coyotes, eg see the discussion under, “Coyote attack,” at www.youtube.com (Some may be hybrids, such as of wolf and coyote.) The coyote (Canis latrans) is also called the prairie wolf. It is a mammal belonging to the order carnivora and related to the domestic dog. They range from Panama through Canada. The name coyote came from Mexican Spanish. The Latin name means barking dog. Nineteen subspecies exist. Its fur is grayish-brown to yellowish-brown and can be black or white. It has a long bushy tail. The coyote is very vocal with a number of sounds including barks, yips, whines, growls, and howls. Coyotes rarely attack humans (but the frequency is much less than attacks by domestic dogs) and the coyotes …

Curtis and Derek hunting coyote 10-09-2010, two weeks before the regular fur taker season started. We were strictly targeting coyote since they can be hunted year round in PA and had to let the non-target species walk, although we couldn’t help playing with them a little. We didn’t come away with any coyote, but we did get some great footage. Watch the entire video so you don’t miss any action! Please comment!

100 pound coyotes my foot! I have hunted and called coyotes for 20 years and I can assure you that I have never seen a 60 pound coyote. Furthermore the average is around 25 pounds. They rarely get to 50 pounds! A 50 pound coyote is rare! Not sure where you got your numbers at!

@mookeychase0907 The seven thumbs up prove why MENSA is only a small percentile and not the majority. Coyotes seek out suburban areas due to free trash to eat, and a never ending supply of rodents to eat. Many coyotes have entered areas where they had never been seen before sprawling cities were there, and coyotes are doing far better now then before people. The coyote is one animal that should thank people for existing, or more importantly killing the wolves who ate them.

December 13th, 2010 at 1:44 am
I’ll give it ya. You city folks are just flippin naive. You haven’t stepped outside your comfy wombs (cities) long enough to know how the Law of Nature really takes its course. Let’s take away your grocery store for a month and see what you’d do.

when the coyote came to New England (atleast rhode island) there went the pheasants, a large portion of the rabbits and a portion of foxs aswell

Human arrogance and ignorance go hand-in-hand.
Hunting should only be a means to survive, not recreation.

Taylor Mitchell a 19 yr old singer was killed on a trail in Cape Breton Nova Scotia October 2009. Is this a different 19 yr old girl you are speaking of? They were coywolves, mix of coyote & wolf, that we have-they are eastern coyote..larger stronger and will take down larger prey like deer. I am afraid of the coywolves. They are all around Boston.
