AR15 SCOPE CAMERA

25

Mounted my Sony camcorder on an A2 stock of the AR15 Bushmaster Varminter. View is through a Leupold Mark III scope, 4.5 x 14, 50mm objective lens. Video shows some random views at 14X, about 50 yards out, and firing one shot into a water jug. Brief slow-motion segment at the end of the exploding jug. Ammo used was .223 Hornady VMAX 55 grain. Hopefully, this setup will work for coyote hunting and some long-range target shooting….alot of possibilities!

    That was very cool.

Not as much as I would like. Try to get a coyote setup in every once in a while. After hitting my 3rd deer with a car recently, I will most definitely start hunting those Fall 2010.

    Do you hunt?

  7. tnoutdoors9 says:

It is literally taped to the stock, right behind the lens. On the next scope cam video, I’ll show a photo of the setup. It’s an ugly, ugly, setup. Pictures can do a more effective job of explaining this.

how do u keep the camera down the scope?

naw theres two neighbers that are like 150 yards away from my house. and like these a high way behind my house like 3/4 a mile away but in front of my house its nothing

  13. HogSlayer903 says:

Damn, that sucks! Just out of curiousity, why can’t you shoot your guns if you are on your property, outside the city limits, and don’t have any neighbors around?

  14. ryan97303 says:

nope i live in colorado. when i walk out my front yard its like empty fields for miles but i still cant shoot my guns .

  15. HogSlayer903 says:

You must be from New York or California… Yea man that sucks. There is NO WAY I could live somewhere that has strict gun laws like that. There is nothing better than being able to wake up, go out on the back back porch and shoot a coyote or pack of hogs wondering across your back yard. GOD BLESS TEXAS!!!

    neighbors cat lol

  17. HCDDWarhero says:

    That’s really cool.

  18. dnahoghunter says:

That may just work!!! Most scope cams loose the picture due to recoil. That .223 may not jump enough to make you loose the footage. Gonna subs an see what you come up with.

hahahaha crapped on its head, hahaa, dude seriously, i just wanna watch ppl use these things for hunting

  20. tnoutdoors9 says:

It was originally used to keep birds out of the garden, but they realized it was fake and repeatedly crapped on it’s head.

  21. fishpimp100 says:

    why r u using a owl decoy?

  22. bonehead663 says:

no need prefectin the scope cam loved the change of clothes

  23. tnoutdoors9 says:

Well, if you own the land or have permission from the property owner. Otherwise, look for the blue light special to arrive…..or someone to shoot back….or both.

  24. Jynx92 says:

absolutely fine.. you’d need a lot more twist to “overstabalize” a 55 grn bullet. The military shoots 62 grn out of 1:7 which pretty much equates what ur doin.

  25. tnoutdoors9 says:

Sony DCR-SR80. It was mfg in 2006, so not anywhere close to the really good camcorders now available. I have beat this thing all to hell making these videos, and it keeps working.
