Mounted my Sony camcorder on an A2 stock of the AR15 Bushmaster Varminter. View is through a Leupold Mark III scope, 4.5 x 14, 50mm objective lens. Video shows some random views at 14X, about 50 yards out, and firing one shot into a water jug. Brief slow-motion segment at the end of the exploding jug. Ammo used was .223 Hornady VMAX 55 grain. Hopefully, this setup will work for coyote hunting and some long-range target shooting….alot of possibilities!

nice rifle and everyones gotta love leupold scopes. the only thing i dont like (and this is coz of my ocd otherwise it would be fine) is the parallax at the top, left of the scope

That camera didn’t like it at all, avoid using camcorders for this with a hard drive. Upgraded to HD and SD cards in August 2010. Big difference. I still use the old camera for target cam shots with picture-in-picture videos.

How is the camera itself holding up to the recoil?
Recording while dry firing could be a great teaching aid for students who tend to pull off target slightly during that last bit of trigger pull.
