   A couple seconds my gunsmith buddy jokes (total bullet travel time in barrel).
   I have put close to 2000 rounds through it and the rifling looks clean and sharp and no evidence of throat erosion. Still shoots an inch at 100 yards. It is a stainless heavy barrel varmint in the Reminton 700. Quite often it is so hot you cannot touch it but we have so many varmints we just keep shooting and when it gets really hot we just grab a 17 HMR for a while.
